It was in the late ‘90s when I met two DJ’s at ‘The Factory’ in West Hollywood. Most clubs at the time were blasting terrible remixes – as DJ’s, we felt responsible to change that. Boy bands and teen-pop were making a comeback, so we thought, “Why not try a teen-pop night on a Thursday?” I felt compelled to create a safe place that not only celebrated one another, but love itself - a stark contrast to the sub-human treatment the LGBT community and I received in the ‘80s. 250,000 guests have come through our doors, and Club Tigerheat hasn’t missed a single Thursday since. Tonight is special, though. We’re dancing to a beat giving. We’re giving our funds, hope, and love to each brother and sister we lost in Orlando. A fifteen-year anniversary well spent.
